Billing & Payment Information

Dr. Abele accepts Vermont Medicaid and Dr Dinosaur (as a specialist, not for primary care, in the Vermont office only). As of August 1, 2025 Dr. Abele no longer accepts private insurance. Some private insurers will allow you to submit your paid receipt for reimbursement. Check with your insurance carrier by calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card. We will gladly provide a billable receipt for any Vermont appointment at your request.

For all patients (excluding VT medicaid), rates are as follows:

• First office visit, adult: $325 (scheduled for 90-minutes)

• First office visit, pediatric: $250 (scheduled for 60-minutes)

• Return office visit with lab review and protocol development: $200 (typically a 60-minute visit)

• Other follow-up visits are billed by time at the rate of $50 per 15 minutes

• Urgent calls (calls made directly to Dr. Abele during non-work hours) incur a $50 connection fee in addition to the normal office visit rate of $50 per 15 minutes.

Visits are scheduled based on need; the frequency and length of time of the visits is variable.

Payment is expected at the time of service, unless arrangements have been made in advance. We offer payment plans if payment at the time of service isn’t possible. We also offer a 15% discount off office visits for anyone over 65 if you are not using insurance. Please call the office if you have questions.

Forms of payment accepted are cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.

Cancellation policy:

Appointments that are not cancelled within 48-hours (business days) notice will incur a $50.00 charge, and no-shows will be billed the full amount for the time they were scheduled.
